Woman fired several shots while chasing man, South Carolina cops say. Now she’s locked up
The search for an armed woman ended Tuesday night when she was taken into custody following a tip from a witness, according to the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office.
Marshanna Anderson, 36, was arrested and will face assault charges, the sheriff’s office said.
At about 6 p.m., the sheriff’s office said it was searching for Anderson, who was chasing a man and fired a gun several times. Specific information about a motive for the shooting was not available, but the sheriff’s office called it a domestic incident.
No injuries were reported.
The shooting was reported near the Citgo gas station on College Street in Newberry, according to the sheriff’s office.
As law enforcement officers searched for the armed woman the sheriff’s office said they received a tip from a witness who saw Anderson. Following the tip, law enforcement officers tightened the search area and arrested Anderson near an industrial park at the intersection of College Street and Whitner Road, according to the sheriff’s office.
Anderson was taken to the Newberry County Detention Center and no bond has been set, jail records show.
