Woman shot at SC Bojangles died, coroner says. Police are looking for her killer
A woman who was shot outside of a South Carolina Bojangles fast food restaurant has died in the hospital, the Lexington County Coroner’s Office announced. Now police are looking for her killer.
Around 10 a.m. on Thursday, officers responded at an emergency call of a shooting at the Bojangles at 152 Harbison Boulevard. A woman was found with a gunshot wound to the upper body and taken to a local hospital. Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified her as 40-year-old Antoinette Michelle Hammonds-Colon of Columbia.
Hammonds-Colon was pronounced dead on Friday. An autopsy is scheduled for Nov. 18 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
No arrests have been made in the shooting, which police called “isolated,” but the Columbia Police Department has arrest warrants for 23-year-old Ja’Quivian Kennerly. The department said he faces several charges, including murder.
Police are asking the public to contact Crimestoppers if they have information regarding his whereabouts.
No other injuries were reported in Thursday’s shooting, but police said they believe the gunfire stemmed from an on-going dispute between two groups. The Columbia Police Department and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office are continuing to investigate.
