Search ends for missing South Carolina teenager who hadn’t been seen for days

UPDATE: On Dec. 9, the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office reported that Anna Wray was safe. Information about where and when she was found was not available, and there was no word if she had been reunited with her family.

A search is underway for a missing Midlands teenager.

Anna Wray was publicly reported missing by the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday. The 17-year-old has not been seen for days, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

Wray was last seen leaving her home in the area near Pipkin Street, Kolb Road and Pinewood Road Monday night, according to the release.

There was no word if Wray was alone when she was last seen. The sheriff’s office did not say if foul play was suspected in Wray’s disappearance.

Wray has acquaintances in the Summerton area of South Carolina, according to the release. That’s about 20 miles south of her home.

The sheriff’s office described Wray as a 5-foot-4, 160-pound female with hazel colored eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing a gray sweat jacket and sweatpants, according to the sheriff’s office.

Wray has been entered into the National Crime Information Center database, the sheriff’s office said.

Anyone who has seen Wray, or has information about her, is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 803-436-2000, CrimeStoppers at 888-CRIME-SC or submit an online tip.
