Missing 13-year-old believed to be in danger, Richland County sheriff says

A search is underway for a missing Midlands teenager who is believed to be in danger.

Ka’Niyah Baker was publicly reported missing by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department Thursday. The 13-year-old has not been seen for days, the sheriff’s department said in a news release.

Ka’Niyah was last seen Monday on Aubernleaf Drive in Hopkins, according to the release. That’s near the intersection with Leesburg Road.

There was no word if Ka’Niyah was considered a runaway, or if she was alone when she was last seen. The sheriff’s department did not say if foul play was suspected in Ka’Niyah’s disappearance, but said she “is believed to be in danger.”

Information about why she is considered in danger was not available.

The sheriff’s department described Ka’Niyah as 5-foot-1, 100-pound girl who was last seen with red extensions in her hair.
