South Carolina woman killed in shooting identified by coroner
A South Carolina woman was killed Monday in a shooting, according to the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office.
Angel Capers, a 38-year-old Summerville resident, was the shooting victim, Coroner Darnell Hartwell said Tuesday.
At about 3:30 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to a home in the 200 block of Grand View Crossing, in the Cane Bay area, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.
There was a large law enforcement presence in the area, and the coroner’s office was called to the home at about 4 p.m., officials said.
Capers died at the scene from a gunshot wound, according to the coroner’s office.
No other injuries were reported.
There was no word about a shooter, or shooters, or anyone else involved in the gunfire. Information about a possible motive for the shooting was not available.
No arrests have been reported, but the death continues to be investigated by the sheriff’s office and coroner’s office.
