Two people were hospitalized Wednesday morning after an SUV crashed into the front of a Publix supermarket in South Carolina, according to the Columbia Fire Department.
At about 11:20 a.m., members of the fire department responded to the crash in the Publix at 10128 Two Notch Road. That’s in the North Pointe Shopping Center by the intersection with Sparkleberry Lane, not far from Spring Valley High School.

The driver of the car and a pedestrian at the store suffered injuries and were taken to an area hospital by Richland County EMS, the fire department said. Both victims’ injuries were minor, according to the fire department. Further information on their conditions was not available.
There was no word about what caused the wreck.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that deputies did respond to the Publix to ensure the area was safe, but said the collision is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
