Pellet gun shot to the neck kills a South Carolina man, coroner says
A 26-year-old South Carolina man died Tuesday after getting shot by a pellet from an air rifle, according to the Pickens County Coroner’s Office.
Easley resident Ryan Douglas Bradford was killed in what the coroner’s office said appeared to be an accident.
At about 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, both Coroner Andrew Wilson and Deputy Coroner Marsha Alexander responded to a shooting death at a home in the 100 block of East Terrace Drive, according to a news release.
An investigation showed that Bradford was shot with a pellet gun air rifle at least once in the neck, the coroner’s office said.
No other injuries were reported.
There was no word on a motive for the shooting.
Information about who fired the gun was not available and no arrests have been reported.
Bradford’s death continues to be investigated by the coroner’s office and the Easley Police Department. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed Thursday, the coroner’s office said.
