Two sisters were killed and two more people were injured Saturday in a crash, according to South Carolina officials.
Jessica Sturdivant, 21, and Jasa Sturdivant, 19, were the victims who died, the Darlington County Coroner’s Office confirmed to The State Sunday morning. The sisters were first publicly identified by SCnow.com.
The two-vehicle collision happened at about 5:40 p.m. in Darlington County, said Cpl. David Jones of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
A 2006 Honda 4-door vehicle was driving north on U.S. 15 while a 2020 Dodge Ram pickup truck was heading east on Bethlehem Road, according to Jones. At the intersection, which is about 11 miles north of NASCAR’s Darlington Raceway, the Dodge was crossing when it collided with the Honda, Jones said.

Jones said both passengers in the Honda were seriously injured and were taken to an area hospital, where one of the sisters died. Further information about the other injured passenger was not available.
The pickup driver was also hurt, Jones said. Further information about the pickup driver’s condition was not available.
No other injuries were reported.
There was no word if anyone involved in the wreck was wearing a seat belt.
Information about any possible criminal charges was not available, but the crash continues to be investigated by the Highway Patrol.
