South Carolina man arrested on multiple drug charges during bust, cops say

A South Carolina man was arrested on multiple charges after drugs and a gun were found during a recent search of his home, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Celestino Anthony Gonzalez Jr., a 32-year-old Sumter resident, was taken into custody following the Oct. 16 search, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday in a news release.

Gonzalez was charged with trafficking cocaine, manufacture, possession and distribution of narcotics, possession of a weapon during violent crime, possession of firearm by person convicted of violent felony and possession of firearm by person convicted of certain crimes, according to the release.

Gonzalez was booked at the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, and his bond was set at $35,000, the sheriff’s office said.
