Car was driving in wrong lane when it crashed into tractor trailer, SC cops say
One person was killed Tuesday when a car and a tractor trailer were involved in a crash, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The two-vehicle collision happened at about 4:10 a.m. in Darlington County, said Cpl. Nick Pye.
A 2025 Western Star tractor trailer was driving north on U.S. 52, according to Pye. The Darlington County Coroner’s Office has not publicly identified the Mitsubishi driver.
No other injuries were reported.
There was no word if anyone involved in the wreck was wearing a seatbelt.
Information about why the Mitsubishi was driving toward oncoming traffic was not available, but the crash continues to be investigated by the Highway Patrol.
