Here are 10 best SC restaurants in December, Yelp says. No. 1 is not in Greenville or Charleston
Yelp is out with its best South Carolina restaurants for December and the top choice of Yelpers is not in Charleston or Greenville.
It’s Seasons By 10/Fold in Myrtle Beach, which specializes in 10/fold Breakfast, Sunday Supper, Nashville Deluxe, Breakfast Melt, Taylor-made Benedict and Low Country BLT.
One Yelper said they stumbled upon it and lucked out — “nothing short of phenomenal.”
They said the space is “inviting, and full of warmth,” it has outdoor seating and a “massive upstairs area that’s perfect for working, lounging, or just soaking up the atmosphere.”
“The real reason this place deserves every bit of praise — the food. We will be back. And when I say we will be back, I mean that even if we have to plan another trip to Myrtle Beach just to eat here again, we will,” the Yelper said.
Southern comfort and creative twists. They ate Biscuits and Gravy, Pistachio Lattes and the Breakfast Melt and El Ranchero Omelet. Then they split an order of Lemon Ricotta Pancakes.
“This place isn’t just another breakfast joint -- it’s a culinary experience,” the reviewer said.
No. 2 was The Jones Oyster in Greenville, known for Lobster Roll, Nola Grilled Oysters, Clam Chowder, Raw Oysters, Smoked Fish Plate, Charleston Shrimp Burger and New England Fried Clam Roll.
“Lobsta roll is money! Oysters are delicious. Great atmosphere. Great staff! Amazing food. As if I were in New England,” a Yelper said.
3. Myles and Jun Yakitori Japanese Char Grill in Summerville, known for Honey Toast, Crispy Pork Belly, Bacon Wrapped Quail Eggs, Wagyu Beef and Spicy Beef Yakitori.
A reviewer was heartened to have the owner come to their table to thank them for coming in.
They ate garlic and tomato rice — delicious — and skewers of meat — also delicious. But the favorite was the crispy pork belly app.
“They make you feel like family,” she said.
4. Jack Of Cups Saloon in Folly Beach, known for Curry Mac, Red Curry, Green Curry, Pulled Pork Sliders, Peanut Ginger Soup and Chana Masala.
”Deviled eggs were unreal,” the reviewer said. “Great meal, great service, great spot along the coast of Charleston.”
5. The Jazz Corner in Hilton Head. A Yelper said they went there after dinner at another restaurant and had a martini and bourbon pecan pie — delicious.
“Ambiance: Was a whole vibe! With that being said, it’s a must hit this spot up again when I come back to Hilton Head!”
6. Bitty & Beau’s Coffee in Charleston, known for Iced Latte, Hot Chai Latte, Frozen Hot Chocolate, Iced Chai, Toasted Marshmallow, Cotton Candy Frappe.
Great coffee and customer service and the cashier made small talk.
7. Halls Chophouse in Charleston, known for Dry-aged Prime Corned Beef Reuben, Filet Mignon, She Crab Soup, Rib Eye, Caramel Cake, Prime Rib Eye Steak Benedict.
“Halls Chophouse is hands down our favorite steakhouse in Charleston and quite honestly one of the best restaurants we have eaten at anywhere,” a Yelper said. “Every time my wife and I visit the city, Halls is a non negotiable stop for us.”
Hospitality, consistently phenomenal food, he said.
“On our most recent visit, we started with the Halls Chopped Salad, which was a perfect ten out of ten. I ordered the 12 ounce filet mignon and it was cooked flawlessly, easily another ten out of ten. We finished with the crème brûlée, which ranks among the best we have had in the country.”
Halls also has restaurants in Columbia and Greenville.
8. Lewis Barbecue in Charleston, known for Mac N Chez, Beef Brisket, Beef Ribs, Brisket Sandwich, Spare Ribs, Pork Ribs, Pulled Pork Sandwich.
“Hand’s down, the best brisket in town! Stopped in on a Friday night, and Lewis’s didn’t disappoint!”
They ate brisket, coleslaw, mac & cheese, and corn pudding — “fantastic.”
Lewis BBQ also has a location in Greenville.
9. The Harbinger Cafe & Bakery Charleston, known for Breakfast Sandwich, Avocado Toast, Grasshopper Toast, Matcha, Salad Plate, Choclava, Early Bird Granola Bowl.
“The vibe is still effortlessly cozy and creative — flowers, greenery, unusual Christmas gifts, and those little bakery touches that make you want to linger over your latte,” a Yelper said.
10. 167 Raw Oyster Bar - Charleston, known for Lobster Roll, Tuna Burger, Old 167 Raw, Fish Tacos, Shrimp Tacos, Pastrami Swordfish Sandwich, Local Caught Stone Crab Claws
“Gorgeous restaurant, gorgeous food, gorgeous people. The vibes here are immaculate,” a Yelper said.
