A Richland County woman shot her husband in self-defense after he assaulted her Monday evening at their home on Bermuda Hills Road, deputies say.
Bryan Bland, 29, has been charged with 1st degree domestic violence, according to a news release. He assaulted his wife on her upper body, and deputies found marks around her neck, according to Sgt. Brittany Scott, spokeswoman for the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
Bland currently is being treated at a local hospital for a gunshot wound to the lower body but will be transported to Alvin S Glenn Detention Center once cleared by medical staff.
The incident happened at about 5 p.m. Monday.
