A motorcycle driver died after a crash in South Carolina between Chester and Rock Hill, officials said.

The crash happened around 9:20 p.m. Thursday night on S.C. 72 near S.C. 909 in Chester County, said Master Trooper Brandon Bolt of the S.C. Highway Patrol.

The driver of a 2000 Harley-Davidson motorcycle went off the right side of the road and was ejected after hitting a ditch, Bolt said.

The driver died at an area hospital after the wreck, Bolt said.

Chester County Coroner Terry Tinker said the name of the deceased has not yet been released, pending notification of family members.

The crash remains under investigation by the S.C. Department of Public Safety and the coroner’s office.
