‘Bitter wind chills,’ chance of snow in Rock Hill area this week, NWS says
Last week, it was heavy rain and high wind for Rock Hill.
Now, it’s cold, wind and a chance of snowflakes.
Wind chills could drop temperatures to single digits Tuesday and Wednesday. Wind chills over the weekend could be even colder.
Some of the coldest temperatures of the winter so far are expected this week near Rock Hill, with “bitter wind chills,” over the coming weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service has put out a hazardous weather bulletin that stated: “A very cold air mass will spread over the region late Friday and linger through the weekend. Cold temperatures and bitter wind chills will be likely across the area.”
Wind chill forecast
Tuesday morning is expected to drop into the teens. Wednesday morning is expected to be around 20 degrees, with wind chills as low as 8 degrees by Wednesday morning, the weather service said.
There is a 40% chance of rain mixing with snow Thursday night into Friday as the low temperature is forecast for 32 degrees, the forecast shows. The forecast does not state there is expected to be any snow accumulation.
After Friday gets up to 50% in the day, night temperatures through Monday morning will be in the teens.
