Electricity service was knocked out to about 7,500 customers in Rock Hill and York County Friday afternoon after a second straight day of powerful summer storms, utilities reported.

Rock Hill Utilities showed more than 3,400 customers in the city without power as of 6:30 p.m., the city’s outage map showed.

York Electric Cooperative had more than 3,500 customers out countywide with the majority near Rock Hill and Fort Mill, the outage map for the utility showed.

Duke Energy’s outage map showed about 450 customers without service in northern York County close to the Lancaster County line.

Thousands of customers in York, Chester, and Lancaster counties had service knocked out Thursday in a storm.
