Withdraw nominee to high court

President Obama needs to inform Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell that he has until Tuesday, Nov. 8 (Election Day) to act on the president’s Supreme Court nominee, Merrick Garland. The president should announce that Mr Garland’s name will be withdrawn on Nov. 9 to allow the new president-elect to make her (his) own choice.

The president should further inform McConnell that he is taking this action in part because he (McConnell) and the other Republican senators have insisted that the American people need to have input in making the choice in the presidential election. This has been the exact reasoning used by the Republican-controlled Senate for their refusal to move forward on the nomination.

United States is a split nation

We are faced with a split nation and a government that has done nothing but perpetrate hostility in all directions to take America down at any cost.

What can we do to facilitate common sense?

Our school officials are stating that their curriculum is better than ever. But if you ask questions to a child concerning the World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam or anything else pertaining to our past history, he or she just doesn’t know and actually couldn’t care less.

In the past, we have had great presidents who were true men of God and who did our country well by being great leaders. At present, we have a president who has done his best to put the United States down the drain, not only here in America but all over the world.

There has been no leadership since President Obama first took office in 2009. He speaks a good line, but nothing more comes alive.

This president is not for what we stand for and never was.
