All wrath focused on ally Israel

So, I just read Mary Keenan's overly simplistic assessment of the conflict in Gaza. Her tone couldn't be more liberal, and one quick search of Google finds that Ms. Keenan is a leader of Code Pink in Rock Hill. How amazing it is to me that we have some of the most liberal groups out there spouting anti-Israel propaganda, and our president-elect is just as biased against Israel, and it gets completely ignored by the press. Obama meets with anti-Israeli "intellectuals," and there is a supposed tape of this event that a major media source refused to release. Can't sabotage our shot at making history now, can we?

I am not shocked to see a Code Pink operative blasting our ally as "terrorist" and lamenting over the 300-plus dead Palestinians. She doesn't mention that many of those killed were manning rocket launchers when they went to meet Allah. What I am shocked about is the fact that she even acknowledged that Hamas was shooting "homemade" rockets into Israel and may actually get a kill on occasion. But her ignorant statement just goes to show the difference between these two adversaries.

Those "homemade" rockets she spoke of are shot into Israeli territory with zero concern of where or on whom they land. Civilian casualties are OK I guess for Ms. Keenan if they are only on Israel's side. What she so conveniently leaves out is that at least the Israeli army is aiming its weapons at Hamas and the militants, not at civilians.

When was the last time you heard a story about some young Israeli strapping bombs to his/her chest and blowing up those poor, innocent Palestinians? I don't recall a single time that has happened. But I don't think that really matters to people like Ms. Keenan, Code Pink or even Barack Obama. Those are just inconvenient facts that they choose to ignore for the purposes of their argument.

Ms. Keenan, there will never be peace in that region until there is a clear cut winner in this conflict. I know who you want to win, but face it; they have no shot against an Israeli army backed by the mighty USA. But I am sure you despise us and our power as well.

So sad to see such spinelessness. Our WWI and WWII veterans are probably war criminals in your eyes as well. God help us if we ever get hit again.

Don't spend money to cut down trees

Shame on the state and local organizations who will spend $1 million to cut trees when many local agencies have had their income cut. Their needs (schools, library, etc.) would seem to be more important.
