Letter writer angry for wrong reasons
Steve Lewis is angry but for the wrong reasons. I have two questions for him: 1. Is he in danger of losing his home to foreclosure? 2. Has he lost or is he in danger of losing his job? Unfortunately there are too many people in this country who can answer yes to both questions.
There are so many issues today that are more important than how someone practices his/her faith. The fact that an interview with President Obama was aired on a Muslim TV station does not make him a Muslim, and labeling him as a socialist is ridiculous. Both of these issues have been put to rest. Why keep bringing up the same tired arguments?
As far as handing out contraceptives to young women, won't this lessen the number of unwanted pregnancies and abortions, or is he against abortions and birth control? What is his solution?
Where has he been these last few months? Does he not see what has been happening to the economy in this country and around the world, for that matter? As Americans, we have more pressing issues than someone's religious beliefs or stressing over something that, for now anyway, is every woman's legal right. Maybe his arguments are just hiding the real reason he is upset that President Obama is in office. Stop trying to fan the flames that have long since been extinguished. Try to be a part of the solution, not the problem. We are all in this together -- no one is immune to the dire economic straits we now find ourselves in.
