Social Security is a blessing
Franklin Delano Roosevelt was one of the great presidents in my opinion. He surely was looking out for the welfare of citizens when he backed the Social Security Act of 1935. All of us who receive benefits or soon will receive them should be very grateful to him and God for this provision. My first payment comes the end of October as I will be 62 on Aug. 21.
As a Christian who loves the Trinity and my Baptist church, I have decided to give my one tenth tithe to the church in gratitude for a financial provision in my life. I am nearly broke from living on my savings being now retired and the money will come just in time.
I gave up looking for a job because it is very hard to find one. Fortunately, I was wise enough to save for retirement for the years that I had a job. Finances are getting down to the wire, and Roosevelt is one of my national heroes.
He was the only president elected to four terms, and he was skillful in bringing confidence to the people of this nation during the Depression era and through World War II. This is the world's greatest nation, and we all should say God bless America every day.
I will also support Jimmy Swaggart's worldwide television ministry as I am being given even a little more money that I need to live on. My expenses are low thank God. Scripture states that the gospel will be preached to the world as a witness and then Christ will return to bring all Christians, living and dead, up to heaven. Many of us believe that Christ Jesus is coming back soon!
