Keep refugees in ‘safe zones’ in Syria

In response to the editorial “Barring Syrian Refugees Won’t Stop Terrorists,” I have this to offer.

First, President Obama was given some Pinocchio’s by immigration experts on his claim that the U.S. has never used religious tests to determine which refugees get passage to America. We did just that with Russian Jews, Ethiopian Jews, Armenian Christians and others.

The only time this president does not need a teleprompter and is passionate about an issue is when he is degrading this great country or blaming Republicans for something they did not do. It’s all about politics with him.

Secondly, yes we are a passionate and giving country to the world and always have been. But for the editorial board to say let in Syrian refugees is absolutely ludicrous. The FBI director himself says there is no way we can vet these refugees.

So, therefore, we would be exposing ourselves to “radical Muslim extremists,” a term which, by the way, the president and the former secretary of state and now Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton refuse to use. Why let in young Muslim men that past history shows want to annihilate us, cut our heads off or call us infidels?

The best thing we could do is make sure we have safe zones around and in Syria, and let them stay where they are.

Call me callous, but I’d rather be safe than dead.
