Letters to the editor for March 2

Trump is just a showman

Donald Trump is a special act. How else could anyone think to the contrary?

For quite some time, Trump has been an act within every speech he has given. He is very boisterous and actually makes a fool of the American voter. Let’s be extremely careful for whom we vote for in the final election.

Here are things that we need to know about Trump’s background that have not been mentioned by him or any others running for the presidency. During 1987, an effort by Trump was made to smear a former president’s name. He purchased a full-page newspaper ad blasting Ronald Reagan’s foreign policy and also stated that Reagan didn’t have a backbone. Trump’s book personally attacks Reagan: “Is there anything beneath that smile?”

During the year 2000, Trump made up his campaign manifesto, called, “The America We Deserve.” Trump proposed the largest tax hike in U.S. history. He advocated a universal government-run health care program, assault weapons ban, no ban on abortions and trade restrictions.

How long will it take for our citizens to comprehend what is going on with this presidential candidate? Donald Trump is nothing more than a person who loves to state how wonderful he is. Yes, he is worth millions, but at present, what America needs is not a person who is hung up on himself, who acts like a little child when someone disagrees with most of his loud-mouth rhetoric.

Please adopt unwanted dogs

Teddy Kulmala’s story about Brody the puppy is one of the saddest and sweetest stories I and hundreds of others have ever read. It’s amazing how many people wanted this innocent puppy.

Would it not be awesome if those unfortunate people who didn’t get Brody would adopt one or two of the many unfortunate dogs that are at the shelter just waiting to be a Brody?

I have two rescues myself, and I love them so much, and they love me.
