Williams for York County sheriff

Please vote for John H. Williams for Sheriff of York County. I have known Johnny all of his life since he is my neighbor, friend, and cousin. He was even my roommate another lifetime ago in Charlotte, NC.

Johnny is the son of Robert S. (Bob) and Virginia Thomas Williams and the grandson of Roy G. and Annie Graham Williams. He was born and raised in York County. He is a graduate of Northwestern High School and attended Winthrop College. He is a lifetime member of Tirzah ARP Church.

Johnny was a longtime leader in the Boy Scouts of America, helping his son and my nephews attain the rank of Eagle Scout.

He has 33 years with the York County Sheriff’s Office, originally hired by Sheriff Pope. He served under Sheriff Mitchell and then Sheriff Eaton, who made him the first forensic and crime scene investigator in York County. He served under Sheriff Mitchell again and then spent 20 years under Sheriff Bryant. He has served in several different positions over the years, but primarily with the Forensic Unit.

He has received extensive training from the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy and the State Law Enforcement Division. He is certified as an expert in both state and federal court.

Again, please vote for Johnny on Tuesday in the York County Republican Primary to be the next sheriff of York County.

Kevin Tolson for York County sheriff

Kevin Tolson knows law enforcement.

I first met Kevin Tolson in the early 1990s while he worked as a York County road deputy and I worked as a prosecutor. Tolson responded to a child sexual assault case and I prosecuted the defendant. Despite being a novice road deputy at that time, Tolson displayed the type of investigative skills and intuition that an experienced investigator would have to admire. His thorough work helped to ensure a successful prosecution of the case all the way through the trial.

Over the years, Kevin Tolson continually proved himself in every aspect of law enforcement. He created an exemplary record with the York County Sheriff’s Office, the State Law Enforcement Division, the York County Forensic Services Unit, and the 16th Circuit Solicitor’s Office. I consider it a privilege to have worked closely with Tolson in every aspect of his distinguished law enforcement career. Tolson makes a significant, positive difference in every case he works, every officer he trains, every officer he supervises, and every crime victim he helps. He is the only candidate for sheriff who has such well-rounded law enforcement and leadership experience.

Kevin Tolson helped create the York County Forensic Services Unit, and he successfully lead the Forensic Services Unit for many years. Tolson is well respected among his law enforcement peers and leads by example. He knows what it takes to run the sheriff’s office. He is prepared. He will inspire his officers, and he will continue to prove that he is a great asset to the good people of York County. I encourage all York County citizens to vote for Kevin Tolson for York County sheriff on Tuesday. Kevin Tolson is the best person for the job.
