Get curbside pickup from a Charlotte restaurant while we’re still COVID-19 distancing

Editor’s note: If you’re a local restaurant owner offering delivery or curbside pickup, email charlottefive@charlottefive.com with all details and a horizontal (landscape) photo (if you have one) to get added to the list.

Phase 1 of reopening businesses in North Carolina takes effect May 8 at 5 p.m., but dining rooms are closed until Phase 2 can begin, which could be as soon as May 22. This is to “flatten the curve” and slow the spread of the novel coronavirus pandemic.

But we’ve got good news: You can still get takeout and delivery, and local businesses need us more than ever.

And a reminder: Experts say there is no evidence of COVID-19 transmission through food or food packaging.

Here are some local spots that are getting creative with sharing their product during a difficult time:

300 East

Curbside pick-up meals available include french onion soup, chicken salad platter, black bean tortilla and corned beef. You can also order any normal menu items to go. Call 704-332-6507 to order, and let the team know when you’re outside.

If you are losing a paycheck and just need a loaf of bread to help put dinner on the table, we are here. Ask us for a kids meal and we will make that sandwich and apple for you. If you aren’t comfortable asking in front of others send us a dm or come to the side door and we will figure it out in private,” the bakery posted on Instagram.

The organization will provide high-quality, well-balanced meals to those in need. It’s already serving 600 meals per day through efforts with The King’s Kitchen and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Dream Center. To continue to do so, they’ll need $7 per meal. You can make tax-deductible donations online that will serve children, teenagers, adults and the elderly. With your help, the organization thinks it can serve upwards of 2,000 meals per day. And, since other community groups are focusing on serving lunch, the organization will focus more on dinnertime to fill the gap.

“We chose our name so that we could always keep our dual focus right in front of us. Our team takes great pride and finds real joy in serving guests at our restaurants, but our most important pursuit has always been helping those less fortunate in the community,” said Jim Noble, owner of Noble Food and Pursuits.
