Festival-lovers gather in downtown Rock Hill for annual ode to spring
Moments into the Come-See-Me Festival in downtown Rock Hill Friday, buckets of rain and high wind sent kids and parents scrambling for shelter.
But the weather didn’t deter everyone. And eventually, the sun came out.
Dozens gathered for the Musical Mania and Chalk on Main events, where kids could bang on large Home Depot buckets or draw colorful artwork on Main Street with oversized chalk.
Down the street at the City Hall amphitheater, hundreds of festival-goers lined the sidewalks with lawn chairs to enjoy the band Gary Lowder & Smokin’ Hot. On a black-and-white checkered floor, dancers showed off their fancy footwork as the band played at the Come-See-Me Beach Bash.
The events are part of the 10-day festival — Rock Hill’s ode to Spring.
The festival continues through Saturday, April 20.
