The Sylvia Circle Demons youth football program will hold a free skills camp June 18 and 19, before retiring alum Jadeveon Clowney’s Demons jersey on June 20.
The camp will run from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday night at the Sylvia Circle practice field and is open to kids ages 5 to 14 years. A 7-on-7 tournament will be held Saturday at the same location, beginning at 9 a.m. Organizers ask that participants wear athletic shorts, cleats or athletic shoes and a t-shirt. Clowney, the former South Pointe Stallion, South Carolina Gamecock and No. 1 overall NFL draft pick, will have his jersey retired in a ceremony later in the day.
Clowney joins fellow former Demon Chris Hope in being recognized by the youth football program that gave him his start in the sport. Hope was the first former player to have his jersey retired last year, in honor of his lengthy NFL career and willingness to give back to the Demons and to Rock Hill.
Contact Demons coaches Perry Sutton (803-372-8929) or Pat Kennedy (704-507-3419) for more information about the camp or the jersey retirement ceremony.
