Piedmont Pride’s Tanner Poole named co-SCBL player of the week

Piedmont Pride outfielder Tanner Poole is one of two Southern Collegiate Baseball players of the week for the June 28 to July 4 period.

Poole, a junior at Mississippi State, had 13 hits in 23 at-bats last week, including a home run, a double and two triples. Poole knocked in eight runs and also stole a pair of bases for the Pride (23-5), which leads the SCBL standings by seven full games.

Derek Gallelo (UNC Charlotte) third baseman for the Carolina Vipers shared the weekly award with Poole. Gallelo hit .567 in 30 at-bats last week.
