Friday, August 30

Northwestern 45, Ridge View 27

Trojan quarterback Finley Polk threw six touchdown passes—three to Kameron Vance—as the Trojans open the season 2-0.

Hillcrest 55, Clover 20

Hillcrest jumped out to a 20-0 first half lead and outscored Clover 28-0 in the fourth quarter alone. Blue Eagles sophomore running back Grady Stone, younger brother of starting running back Landon, ran for two touchdowns in the loss.

Bluffton 35, Andrew Jackson 13

Bryce Peterson scored both of Andrew Jackson’s touchdowns—one on a 28-yard touchdown reception and the other on a pick-six—as Andrew Jackson drops its season opener to 4A Bluffton. The game was called with six minutes left in the contest.

Bamberg-Ehrhardt 14, Buford 0

The game was called in the first half due to lightning and visiting Bamberg-Ehrhardt having an over two-hour drive.

Lewisville 44, Hunter-Kinard-Tyler 16

Lions quarterback Zac Rogers threw four touchdowns in the win as Lewisville gets to 2-0.

Indian Land 35, Lancaster 21

The Warriors ended the game on a 28-0 second-half run to secure a comeback win over the Bruins. Indian Land junior Jamol Horton and sophomore Lavoris Lucas each scored a pair of touchdowns, while Lancaster quarterback R.J. Brown scored a touchdown through the air and on the ground.

Chesterfield 47, Great Falls 0

Great Falls drops to 0-2 on the season with the loss.

Nation Ford 14, York 12

Nation Ford quarterback Carson Sanford connected with receiver Lucas Barz for two scores as the Falcons stopped a York two-point conversion with a minute left to seal the victory.

Catawba Ridge 52, East Gaston (N.C.) 19

Catawba Ridge quarterback CJ Couch threw for four touchdowns and senior running Brayden Wasik scored twice as the Copperheads bounce back for a comfortable Week 1 victory.

South Pointe 49, Rock Hill 3

J’Zavien Currence threw for four touchdowns and ran for another score to lead South Pointe to a fifth-consecutive victory over rival Rock Hill.

Note: Chester at Fort Mill was cancelled due to flooding of the field.
