The Panthers’ senior scored the game-winning goal in the 98th minute of a 2-1 double overtime victory over Ardrey Kell to win their first conference title since the 2022 season on Oct. 29.

Jace Garrett, Garinger soccer, Sr.: The Wildcats’ senior scored four goals and had one assist in 9-0 win at West Mecklenburg on Oct. 27.

Garrett has 29 goals and 13 assists for Garinger (15-7-2) this season.

Angelo Little, North Mecklenburg soccer: The Vikings’ senior forward scored two goals in a 5-0 win over West Charlotte on Oct. 28.

Little has 25 goals and three assists for North Mecklenburg (14-7-2) this season.

Bryant Moore, West Iredell cross-country: The Warriors’ junior ran the course in 16 minutes, 13.04 seconds to finish as 4A state runner-up at the Ivey Redmon Sports’ Complex in Kernersville on Oct. 31.

Moore’s run also helped West Iredell to an 11th-place 4A state meet finish the same day.

Josh Palmer, Cuthbertson cross-country: The Cavaliers’ sophomore ran a 15.58.83 to finish ninth, while leading Cuthbertson to a 7A state championship at the Ivey Redmon Sports’ Complex in Kernersville on Nov. 1.

Palmer’s efforts helped the Cavaliers to their sixth state championship in the last eight years, beating out runner-up Cardinal Gibbons by just two points.

Michael Rivlin, Marvin Ridge cross-country: The Mavericks’ senior ran a 15:40.49 to finish fourth at the 7A state championships at the Ivey Redmon Sports’ Complex in Kernersville on Nov. 1.

Rivlin’s efforts also helped Marvin Ridge to a 7A state runner-up finish.

Dennis Sanchez, Independence soccer: The Patriots’ senior forward scored two goals in a 3-1 win at Butler to win the Meck Power 6 7A/8A conference title on Oct. 28.

Sanchez has 13 goals and nine assists for Independence (14-4) this season.

Piercon Selland, Hough soccer: The Huskies’ senior had two assists in a 2-0 win over Hopewell on Oct. 28.

Selland has 10 goal and 19 assists for Hough (14-7-3) this season.

Ayden Torres, West Cabarrus soccer: The Wolverines’ junior midfielder had two goals and two assists in an 8-1 win over Forest Hills on Oct. 28.

Torres has 19 goals and 16 assists for a West Cabarrus team (23-1) that has won 22 straight games this season.
