Pablo Torre Feels Bad For Knicks Fans Heading Into Game 3
Former ESPN star and podcast host Pablo Torre is feeling bad for New York Knicks fans heading into Game 3.
With U.S. President Donald J. Trump set to attend Game 3, security measures are being heightened, and a watch party outside of Madison Square Garden has been cancelled by New York Police.
"There will be no watch party outside MSG. This decision was made is coordination with the Secret Service. There will be watch parties at other locations. We are currently determining where they will be. We'll get back to you when we have more to share," the New York Police Department announced.
Watch parties for fans have been incredibly fun, as ticket prices to games inside of Madison Square Garden are quite high. The get-in price is north of $7,000 right now.
Torre, who hosts one of the most popular sports podcast in the country and is a lifelong New Yorker, is feeling bad for Knicks fans.
"James Dolan invited his friend Donald Trump to watch Game 3. In order to do that, they have to ban the organic, historically joyous parties happening outside MSG for fans who can't afford to be inside. Modern sports in a nutshell," he wrote.
Knicks announce Game 3 security plans
The Knicks have announced security plans for Game 3.
"As we move closer to Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Monday night, Madison Square Garden and the United States Secret Service want to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all ticket holders by sharing important security procedures that will be in place," the team announced.
"A strict no-bag policy will be in effect, and fans should make every effort to limit personal items to an absolute minimum. Fans should expect enhanced security measures when entering Madison Square Garden, including TSA-style screening procedures. Guests are strongly encouraged to arrive at least two hours before tip-off to allow additional time for screening and entry. Fans are encouraged to review the complete list of prohibited items before arriving at https://www.secretservice.gov/prohibiteditems. There will be no storage available for prohibited items brought to the venue."
Game 3 is scheduled to tip off after 8 p.m. E.T.
