Two Triangle ACC football teams will have one of their games broadcast exclusively on the new ACC Network during the first three weeks of the 2019 regular season.
North Carolina will play Miami in Chapel Hill at 8 p.m. on Sept. 7, while N.C. State will play East Carolina in its home opener at noon on Aug. 31, the ACC announced on Wednesday.
The ACC Network, a joint partnership between ESPN and the ACC, will broadcast 14 football games, including five conference games, in the first three weeks of the season. Weeks 1 and 2 will carry five games, while Week 3 will carry four games.
Week 1 will also feature Georgia Tech at Clemson at 8 p.m. on Aug. 29, and Utah State at Wake Forest at 8 p.m. on Aug. 30. The game time for Duke versus Notre Dame on Nov. 9 has not been announced.
The ACC Network, which will launch on Aug. 22, does not yet have a carriage agreement with any of the major cable systems (Charter/Spectrum/Time Warner and AT&T) in North Carolina and is still missing at least one major system in the ACC footprint (Comcast), The News & Observer reported last week. The network does have deals with DirecTV and several cable providers elsewhere on the East Coast.
