Three South Carolina women’s basketball assistants received raises and contract extensions from the school’s board of trustees on Friday.

Associate head coach Lisa Boyer and assistant coaches Fred Chimel and Jolette Law had an additional year tacked on to their existing deals along with pay bumps following the Gamecocks’ run to their second national title in program history.

Here’s the full breakdown of the contracts:

  • Lisa Boyer — 1 year extension through March 31, 2023, salary increase to $400,000 (up from $307,500)
  • Fred Chmiel — 1 year extension through March 31, 2023, salary increase to $300,000 (up from $255,737)
  • Jolette Law — 1 year extension through March 31, 2023, salary increase to $295,000 (up from $246,000)

South Carolina finished the 2022 season 35-2 and 15-1 in the Southeastern Conference. USC’s only losses on the year came in a regular-season contest at Missouri and in the SEC tournament final to Kentucky.

The Gamecocks won their NCAA tournament games by an average of 23.3 points, including a 64-49 victory over UConn in the national title game.

Head coach Dawn Staley is entering the second year of a seven-year deal that she signed in October. The contract will paid her $2.9 million in base salary and outside compensation this year. That number will increase in increments of $100,000 over the life of the deal, reaching $3.5 million in 2027-28.

Staley also earned more than $650,000 in bonuses due to her national championship win, among a handful of other incentives written into her contract.

The USC board of trustees also approved a one-year contract extension for head men’s and women’s track and field coach Curtis Frye. His new deal will run through June 30, 2023, and his salary will remain at just over $251,000.
