Rock Hill’s Mitchell Jeter ended the 2014 season on the Southern Conference’s All-Conference second team. The Citadel rising senior begins the 2015 campaign on the first.

Jeter has played in all 35 games in his career and will be a linchpin again on the Bulldogs’ defensive line. He collected 34 tackles, including 10.5 for loss with 6.0 sacks, three quarterback hurries, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble last fall. Jeter’s sacks and fumble recoveries totals ranked fourth in the SoCon, and he tied for eighth in the conference in tackles for loss.

The 6-foot, 285-pound defensive tackle was named Southern Conference defensive player of the week after recording a career-high 12 tackles, including 2.0 for loss, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble at Wofford.

Jeter represented Rock Hill High in the Shrine Bowl in 2012 and was also named the wrestling team’s outstanding wrestler twice in his career.

The Citadel was picked seventh in the Southern Conference’s preseason poll. The Bulldogs, including Jeter’s fellow Rock Hill products Josh Massey (South Pointe) and Russell Hubbs (Northwestern), begin their season Sept. 5 at home against Davidson.
