Winthrop senior golfer Jennifer Dilger captured the 2015 Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate by firing a 36-hole even par 144 to win by two shots on the 6,009-yard Mimosa Hills Country Club course.

Dilger (Palmdale, Calif.) wrapped up her second medalist title of the year by firing a 1-under par 71 on Tuesday for the low round of the day in the 69-player field. She opened play on Sunday with a 73 to stand in fifth place heading into the final round.

Winthrop’s team finished seventh with a score of 629 (317-312), while host school Appalachian State captured the team championship by finishing at 600 (303-297).

Although her score did not count in the team scoring, Eagle senior Viivi Nuorti (Helsinki, Finland) finished third after shooting 147 (75-72) while competing as an individual. Winthrop’s other competitors included freshman Ashley Sloup (Southport, N.C.) who tied for 31st (80-78-158), senior Rachel Wyatt (Blythewood, S.C.), tied for 41st (79-83-162), senior Anna Jenkins (Rock Hill, SC), 54th (85-81-166), and freshman Chandler Case (Rock Hill, S.C.), 57th (88-82-170). The Eagles also had two other players competing as individuals along with Nuorti; senior Lucie Walker tied for 39th (80-81-161) while junior Mary Barbero (Fairfax Station, Va.) tied for 61st (88-86-174).

The tournament was the final for Winthrop before the Eagles head to Georgetown, SC next Sunday for the 2015 Big South Conference Championships.
