Winthrop head men’s basketball coach Pat Kelsey has announced that redshirt sophomore Duby Okeke will miss 3 to 5 weeks due to a fractured wrist.

Okeke suffered the injury during the second half of the game at Georgia and it was announced Wednesday he’d miss significant time. The 6-foot-8 redshirt sophomore from Jonesboro, Ga., is currently fourth in the nation with 3.5 blocks per game (28 in eight games), and was also contributing 6.5 points and 6.4 rebounds per contest.

Okeke did not play against Alabama Wednesday and will almost certainly miss Winthrop games against Georgia Southern, Alabama State, Rio Grande College and the Eagles’ Big South opener on Dec. 31 against Campbell.
