Westminster Catawba falls to South Lake

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- South Lake Christian Academy lived up to its name by sharing the love in its 56-16 win over Westminster Catawba Christian School.

The Eagles had eight different players score for them, led by quarterback Daniel Stallsmith, who was 4-for-4 with 107 yards passing and two touchdowns. He also had a 1-yard touchdown run.

The Eagles' big plays included a 70-yard touchdown pass by Zach Groshon from Stallsmith and a 62-yard run by Sam Remick.

The Eagles' offense had 409 yards rushing on 36 carries and 516 yards of total offense.

Westminster's touchdowns came on a 4-yard run by Broderick Moore and a 23-yard pass by Ian Brandt from quarterback Evan Andert.

"My expectations might have been too high for this year," Westminster Catawba coach Mike Scurlock said. "We have good talent, we just have to be more physical and intense.

"We needed to better prepare this team."
