Meredith Christopher scored the only goal of the match to give the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets a 1-0 victory over the Clover Blues Eagles in a Region 3-4A matchup Friday at Manchester Meadows.
Christopher’s goal came at the 60-minute mark.
Fort Mill improved to 2-0 in the region with the victory.
Baseball (Late Thursday)
Clover 13, Fort Mill 2: The Blue Eagles defeated the Yellow Jackets 13-2 in a Region 3-4A contest Thursday night.
Kaleb Strader led the Blue Eagles with a pair of hits, including a double, in three trips to the plate. He also drove in a pair of runs. Cody Payne added two hits to the Clover attack, while Stanley Durkin drove in a pair of runs for the Blue Eagles.
Barrett Courtwright picked up the win for Clover, while Garrett Leonard took the loss for Fort Mill.
Indian Land 3, Chesterfield 0:The Warriors won for the second time in as many tries in Region 4-AA with a 3-0 victory over the Rams.
Nolan Bolt picked up the win for the Warriors. He allowed only three hits and struck out three batters. Mike Webb came on and got the last two outs to pick up the save. Bailey Polson was the losing pitcher.
Webb led the Warriors at the plate with two hits, while Derian Gueldner added one hit for Indian Land.
