High school roundup: Clover tops York in Volleyball

Clover toppled York 3-0 in a non-region match at York Tuesday night.
Clover won 25-14, 25-19, and 25-20. Jamie Allen led Clover with nine kills, one block, four aces, and four digs, while Kerrington Barnes added 7 kills and one dig. Cierra McBeth had three kills and two aces, and Brooklyn Thomas had 10 digs and two aces.
Adrienne Ehrnschwender had 16 assists and four aces, and Madison Lybrand recorded 15 assists and one ace.
Clover improved to 3-1 on the season.

Northwestern defeated South Pointe 3-0 in a non-region match at South Pointe Tuesday night.

Fort Mill defeated Rock Hill and Clover in a Region 4-5A match at River Hills Country Tuesday afternoon.
Alyssa Campbell of Clover claimed medalist honors with a 40. Lillie Smith had a 46 to lead Fort Mill, while Katie Warner was the top scorer for Rock Hill with a 48.

Northwestern defeated Fort Mill 179-193 in a Region 4-5A match at Fort Mill Golf Club on Monday.

Indian Land girls finish fourth
The Indian Land Warriors finished fourth in a 23-team field on Saturday in the Providence Invitational at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte.
Indian Land’s team score of 157 was 79 points behind North Lincoln, which finished first.
Leading the Warriors in the open race was sophomore Kaitlyn Rodman, who placed fifth with a time of 20:18.56. Hannah Sawyer finished eighth with a time of 20:30.37, Lauren Sizemore placed twentieth with a time of 21:16.22. Adriana Wilson (23:20), Baileigh Sizemore (24:15), and Mattie-Baile Tripp (24:38) also competed for Indian Land.
BOYS’ CROSS COUNTRY
Juan Alejandro leads Warriors
Senior Juan Alejandro led the Indian Land Warriors in the Providence Invitational at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte on Saturday. He finished ninety-ninth overall with a time of 19:29.62. Maddox Yegge (19:44.47), and Austin Reeves (20:13) also competed in the varsity race for the Warriors.
