Wheels: South Pointe baseball erases deficit, ekes past Fort Mill
The South Pointe baseball team came back to beat Fort Mill 7-6 in Thursday’s second game during the Wheels Invitational baseball tournament at South Pointe.
The Stallions trailed 5-0 after the third inning.
Fort Mill loaded the bases in the second frame and Nick Manko gobbled up a floating curveball, launching it onto the hill in right field for a grand slam. Yellow Jacket senior Mason Jordan put another one out of the park in the third, parking a pitch beyond the left field wall.
But South Pointe responded, pushing three across in the third, before three more in the bottom of the seventh won the game. Joseph Wyatt’s double drove in Stephen Thompson for the winning run.
