High school roundup: Clover boys tennis blanks York

The Clover boys won every match played and claimed a 6-0 tennis win over York in a Region 3-4A match at Clover.

The win capped the Blue Eagles regular season with a 15-0 overall record. They were perfect in a dozen matches in the region and will be the number one seed from the region when the playoffs start next week.

Girls’ Soccer

Fort Mill 8, Gaffney 0: The Yellow Jackets defeated the Indians in a Region 3-4A match at Fort Mill.

The win closed the regular season for Fort Mill with a 12-0 region mark. They will be the number one seed from the region when the playoffs begin next week.

Rock Hill 2, Northwestern 1: The Bearcats scored on a penalty kick to topple the Trojans in a Region 3-4A match at District 3 Stadium.

The match was tied at 1-1 at halftime.

Indian Land 8, Andrew Jackson 0: The third-ranked Warriors got goals from seven different players and defeated the Volunteers in a Region 4-AA contest at Indian Land.

Anna Vicente scored two goals to lead the Warriors to the win. Indian Land out shot the Volunteers 25-0 for the match.

The win improved the Warriors to 13-3-3 overall. Andrew Jackson fell to 6-10 with the loss.

Northwestern 1, Rock Hill 0: The Trojans scored a goal in the second half and edged the Bearcats in a Region 3-4A match at Northwestern.

Erwin Salazar scored the goal for the Trojans.
