These volleyball teams in York, Chester and Lancaster counties are bound for SC playoffs
The volleyball playoffs start this week, and 11 area schools will be in action in the opening round of play.
On Wednesday, the 5A playoffs start: The Nation Ford Falcons will be at home to take on Spring Valley. The Clover Blue Eagles will also play at home against the Northwestern Trojans. The Rock Hill Bearcats are the third area 5A team to earn a first round home match, and they will go against the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets.
The 4A playoffs begin on Thursday: The Catawba Ridge Copperheads, who won Region 3-4A, will have a first round bye. They will host the winner of the match between Travelers Rest and Irmo in the second round on Monday. The South Pointe Stallions are also at home to take on Laurens. The Indian Land Warriors will take to the road to play Eastside.
When the 3A postseason begins on Thursday, the Chester Cyclones will be on the road to go against Wren. In 2A, the Andrew Jackson Volunteers are at home to battle Abbeville, while York Prep hits the road to play Andrews.
And in 1A (which begin Wednesday), the Lewisville Lions, who won the Region 2-1A title, will get a first round bye. They will host the winner of the High Point and Ware Shoals match on Monday in the second round. The Great Falls Red Devils, who made the postseason in their first year after restarting the program, will travel to Due West to play Dixie.

Here are the final standings for the regions in the area.
Region 3-5A
Nation Ford finished first with a 7-1 region mark and an overall record of 21-10. Clover and Fort Mill tied for second. Clover was 5-3 (11-5), while Fort Mill was 5-3 (17-7). Boiling Springs was next at 3-5 (17-13), and Gaffney was fifth at 0-8 (2-12).
Region 4-5A
Rock Hill and Blythewood tied for the top spot. Blythewood got the top spot for the playoffs on the tiebreaker. Rock Hill was 7-1 (21-9), while Blythewood was 7-1 (15-6). Northwestern and Spring Valley tied for third. Northwestern got the third spot in the postseason with the tiebreaker. Northwestern finished 3-5 (6-10) with Spring Valley checking in at 3-5 (6-10). Ridge View was last at 0-8 (0-11).
Region 3-4A
Catawba Ridge claimed the region title. They finished at 8-0 in region play and 21-8 in all matches. South Pointe finished second at 6-2 (7-6). Indian Land was third in the region at 4-4 (7-8). York was fourth at 2-6 (6-10), while Lancaster was 0-8 (0-10).
Region 4-3A
Mid-Carolina finished on top of the region with a record of 8-0 and an overall mark of 10-7. Fairfield Central and Keenan tied for second spot, and Fairfield Central got that position on the tiebreaker. Fairfield Central was 5-3 (7-8) while Keenan checked in at 5-3 (7-7). Chester was fourth at 2-6 (4-10) and Lower Richland completed its season at 0-8 (0-12).
Region 4-2A
North Central won the region with a record of 12-0 and an overall slate of 22-2. Andrew Jackson was the runner-up at 10-2 (13-6) with Buford third at 7-5 (10-5). Chesterfield was fourth at 6-6 (9-7) with York Prep 4-8 (7-11), Cheraw 3-9 (3-10), and Central 0-12 (2-16) completing the region.
Region 2-1A
Lewisville finished with a region mark of 8-0 and an overall record of 13-2. McBee finished second at 6-2 (9-6), with Governor’s School third at 4-4 (5-9). Great Falls was fourth at 2-6 (4-9), and CA Johnson was last with a mark of 0-8 (0-12).
