It’s time! If you want to watch some high school football, tonight’s the night

Five area high school football jamborees are on the schedule for Friday and Saturday nights. Four will unfold on Friday.

The WRHI Football City USA Kickoff is set for Friday at District 3 Stadium in Rock Hill.

The South Pointe Stallions open the three-game set at 5:30 p.m. with a contest against Olympic of Charlotte. The Northwestern Trojans follow at 7 against Dutch Fork. The Rock Hill Bearcats close the evening with a battle against Byrnes at 8:30.

The Bill Pate White Rose Football Classic also is on the card for Friday at York High School.

The Fort Mill Yellow Jackets get things started at 6 p.m. against Laurens. At 7 Providence High School and Blythewood will battle. The Clover Blue Eagles follow at 8 with a contest against Providence Day. York caps the four-game jamboree at 9:00 as they take on Clinton.

The Gus Allen Memorial jamboree will be held at Nation Ford High School on Friday.

Piedmont and Charlotte Christian open the event at 5:30. Berry Academy takes on Marvin Ridge at 6:30. The Catawba Ridge Copperheads battle Cuthbertson at 7:30, and the Nation Ford Falcons cap the evening at 8:30 with a contest against Porter Ridge.

The Chester County Jamboree also is Friday at Chester High School.

The Lewisville Lions open the event at 6 p.m. against Hickory. After a brief ceremony at 7, the Great Falls Red Devils take on Blacksburg at 7:15. The Chester Cyclones finish the event with an 8:15 start against Richland Northeast.

The Founders Federal Classic will be played on Saturday night at Indian Land High School.

The Andrew Jackson Volunteers get things started at 5 with a contest against McBee. The Lancaster Bruins follow at 6 when they take on Palisades. The Buford Yellow Jackets are next at 7 with a matchup against Metrolina Christian. The Indian Land Warriors complete the jamboree at 8 against Highland School.
