Prep football standings: 4 area teams rise higher in the statewide rankings
The high school football media top 10 poll following the third week of games has been released, and six area teams are included.
The South Pointe Stallions and the Northwestern Trojans remain first and second respectively in the 4A poll. Two other area teams are also in the 4A poll. The Catawba Ridge Copperheads moved up one spot from last week and are now seventh. The Indian Land Warriors gained one spot from last week and are in the ninth position.
In 2A the Buford Yellow Jackets climbed two spots from a week ago to seventh place. The Lewisville Lions picked up one first place vote and made the biggest move of the week. They gained four spots to the fifth position in this week’s 1A poll.
