Northwestern 61, Nation Ford 22

The Northwestern Trojans piled up 711 yards of total offense and defeated the Nation Ford Falcons 61-22 in a non-region game at Nation Ford Friday night.

The Trojans led 13-7 after one quarter and 33-22 at halftime. The offense exploded for 28 points in the second half, while the defense pitched a shutout.

Nation Ford took a 7-0 lead when Carson Black passed to Josh Ameo on a 15-yard play with 7:13 left in the first quarter. The Trojans answered when Finley Polk passed to Zilon Arnold on a 22-yard play. The Trojans missed the PAT, and Nation Ford led 7-6 with 4:43 left in the opening quarter. Northwestern took a 13-7 lead when Arnold scored on a 3-yard run with 53 seconds left in the first period.

Nation Ford came back. Black passed to Jerim Hailstock for 10 yards, and the Falcons were back in front 14-13. Arnold added his third touchdown of the night on a four-yard run, and the Trojans regained the lead at 19-14 midway through the second quarter.

Turbo Richard scampered 60 yards on the next Northwestern possession and it was 26-14. Three minutes later Polk hooked up with Elijah Caldwell on an 80-yard play for a 33-14 Trojan advantage. The Falcons completed the first half scoring and cut the gap to 33-22 when Black passed to Daheem Knowles on a 53-yard play.

Polk and Caldwell teamed up for two more scores in the third quarter. The first was a 23-yard pass, and the second was a 22-yard aerial. In between those two scores Polk passed to Greer Hopkins for an 80-yard touchdown. The three scores gave Northwestern a 54-22 lead heading to the fourth quarter.

Kamari Chiles capped the scoring for Northwestern on a one-yard run midway through the final period.

Polk led the Trojans’ offense. He finished the night with 14 completions on 19 attempts for 350 yards. Caldwell hauled in seven passes for 195 yards.. Turbo Richard led the Trojans’ ground game with 211 yards on 13 carries, and Arnold added 67 on nine attempts.

Nation Ford had 403 yards of total offense. Black led the Falcons’ offense with 20 completions on 40 attempts for 263 yards. Knowles caught 10 passes for 163 yards. Hailstock led the Falcons’ rushing attack with 68 yards on 12 carries. Kaleb White added 58 yards on a dozen attempts.

Northwestern improved to 4-0 with the win, while Nation Ford dropped to 0-4 with the loss.

Rock Hill 46, Lower Richland 25

The Rock Hill Bearcats overcame a slow start and toppled Lower Richland 46-25 in a non-region game at District Three Stadium Friday night.

Lower Richland took a quick 7-0 lead, but Bearcats’ quarterback Matthew Wilson led the comeback. He scored once in the first quarter as Rock Hill took a 13-7 advantage when it was over. He added two more touchdowns in the second stanza to give Rock Hill a 25-7 lead at halftime.

His second touchdown was a five-yard run that put Rock Hill up 19-7 with 8:43 remaining until halftime. His third score, which was also a five-yard run, gave the ‘Cats a 26-7 cushion with 22 seconds left in the second quarter.

Rock Hill made it 31-7 when Damaryion Pichardo scampered in from 39 yards out with 9:50 remaining in the third quarter. Lower Richland answered three minutes later to slice the deficit to 31-13.

The ‘Cats struck back when Wilson passed to Pichardo on a 40-yard play, which produced a 39-13 advantage midway through the third quarter. Lower Richland scored in the final minute of the stanza to cut the lead to 39-19.

Wilson added his fourth rushing touchdown of the night with a six-yard run at the 10:55 mark of the fourth quarter, and Rock Hill was in front 46-19. Lower Richland completed the scoring with a touchdown in the final minutes of the contest.

Rock Hill improved to 1-3 with the victory.

Indian Land 34, Fort Mill 0

The Indian Land Warriors took a 21-0 lead at halftime and toppled the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets 34-0 in a non-region game at Indian Land Friday night.

Myles Stinson scored on a 12-yard run to give Indian Land a 7-0 lead after one quarter. Jaden Singletary’s 6-yard touchdown run made it 14-0 early in the second period. They completed the first half scoring when Jaxon Scheidt passed to Dalton Evans on a 33-yard play for a 21-0 advantage.

Singletary and Stinson added third quarter touchdowns to complete the Warriors’ scoring.

Indian Land improved to 4-0 with the win, while the Yellow Jackets dropped to 0-3 with the loss.

Lancaster 14, Fairfield Central 7

The Lancaster Bruins edged Fairfield Central 14-7 in a non-region game at Lancaster Friday night.

After a scoreless first quarter, Lancaster took a 14-0 lead at halftime. The third period ended with the same score, and Fairfield Central got its only score of the contest in the final period.

The Bruins improved to 3-1 with the victory.

Catawba Ridge 45, West Cabarrus 0

The Catawba Ridge Copperheads used a strong second half and blasted West Cabarrus 45-0 in a non-region game at Catawba Ridge Friday night.

The Copperheads took a 10-0 lead at halftime. Kohen Kozel kicked a field goal, and Brody Tesimate added a rushing touchdown for the lead heading to the dressing room.

They added 21 points in the third quarter for a 31-0 lead when it was over. Sheldon Crawford scored on a pass from Nate Thomas, Tyler Jones added a touchdown run, and Jackson Burger picked up a blocked punt and returned it for six points.

The Copperheads added touchdowns from Crawford and Ira Mister in the final 12 minutes.

The Copperheads improved to 4-0 on the year with the one-sided victory.

Andrew Jackson 26, Lamar 14

The Andrew Jackson Volunteers topped Lamar 26-14 in a non-region game at Lamar Friday night.

The Volunteers broke a 7-7 deadlock at intermission to take a 19-14 lead after three quarters. They completed the scoring with a touchdown in the final 12 minutes.

The Volunteers improved to 1-2 with the win.

Lewisville 31, Blacksburg 25

The Lewisville Lions came from behind and edged Blacksburg 31-25 in a non-region game at Blacksburg Friday night.

Blacksburg led 8-0 in the first period and 15-11 at halftime. The Lions rallied and outscored Blacksburg 20-10 in the second half to earn the hard-fought victory.

The Lions improved to 4-0 on the year with the win.

Columbia 30, Great Falls 28

Columbia edged the Great Falls Red Devils 30-28 in a non-region game at Great Falls Friday night.

Great Falls broke a 6-6 tie after one quarter and took a 14-6 lead at the break. Columbia cut it 14-12 midway through the third stanza, but the Red Devils answered for a 20-12 lead. Columbia rallied to tie it at 20-20 when the period was over.

Columbia scored a safety early in the final period for a 22-20 lead, and then added a touchdown less than a minute later for a 30-20 advantage. Great Falls completed the scoring with a touchdown with three minutes to play in the contest.

The Red Devils dropped to 1-3 on the year with the loss.

Christ School 40, Legion Collegiate 7

Christ School scored in every quarter and routed the Legion Collegiate Lancers 40-7 in a non-region game in Arden, North Carolina Friday night.

Christ School led 13-7 after one period and 20-7 at intermission. They added another touchdown in the third quarter for a 27-7 lead and closed out the scoring with a pair of touchdowns in the final 12 minutes.

Legion Collegiate fell to 1-3 on the year with the loss.

Clover 28, York 24

South Pointe 33, Chester 21
