Alivia Cleveland, Fort Mill Cross Country: The Yellow Jackets’ freshman won the Mike
Moore Lake Murray Invitational running a personal-best 18:08.67, while leading the Fort Mill
girls’ cross country team to a fourth-place team finish, Sept. 17.
Cleveland won for the second week in a row after setting a 14-year old, meet record (18:35.40)
to win the Trojan Invitational, Sept. 10.
Emma Craig, Lancaster Tennis: The Bruins’ senior was her team’s lone winner with a 6-1, 6-0
victory at No. 3 singles in a 5-1 loss to Indian Land, Sept. 13.
Craig was the only returning player on the Lancaster girls’ tennis team this season, according to
Bruins’ tennis coach, Trudy Walker.
Mackenzie Finn, Fort Mill Golf: The Yellow Jackets’ shot a 38 (nine holes) to earn medalist
honors in a tri-meet with Northwestern and York at Spring Lake Country Club, Sept. 14.
The next day, Finn also earned medalist honors with a 39 (nine holes) in a tri-meet with Clover
and South Pointe at Waterford Golf Club.
Finn also shot an 81 (18 holes) to finish fourth-place individually at the Lady Trojan Invitational
at Rock Hill Country Club, Sept. 12.
Alex Fogle, York Prep Cross Country: The Patriots’ senior ran a 19:33 to win the York Prep
5K race at Kettlesong in Rock Hill, Sept. 15.
Fogle, a three-year team captain, was 41 seconds faster than the runner-up in the race.
Mason Haynes, Nation Ford Cross Country: The Falcons’ sophomore ran a personal-record
14:55 to win the Warrior Cross Country Invitational at Stables’ Park in Pawleys Island, Sept. 17.
Haynes, who was nine seconds faster than the field, also led the Nation Ford boys’ cross country
team to a 28-point victory in Pawleys Island.
Jarod Lockhart, Great Falls Cross Country: The Red Devils’ senior ran a personal-best 19:43
at the Warrior Invitational 5K at Stables’ Park in Pawleys Island, Sept. 17.
Lockhart is a two-time, All-Region II, A performer.
Kennedy Martin, Nation Ford Volleyball: The Falcons’ senior had 123 kills, 29 digs, nine
blocks and eight aces as Nation Ford went 7-3 overall this week with two regular season games
and a tournament.
Nation Ford (13-9) won at Clover, 3-0, Sept. 13, and beat Blythewood, 3-0, at home, Sept. 15.
The Falcons also finished as runner-up in the Dorman High Tournament of Champions with wins
over host, Dorman, Mountain Brook (AL), Porter Gaud, River Bluff and St. Joseph’s Catholic,
while losing to Mauldin, River Bluff and Wando in the two-day event, Sept. 16-17.
Martin is a University of Florida commit.
Hunter Rawls, Chester Cross Country: The Cyclones’ freshman ran another personal-best
time with a 23:09 to finish in 16th-place overall in the York Prep at Kettlesong in Rock Hill,
Sept. 15.
Rawls, in his first year of running cross country, has set new personal best times in three of the
four meets he has run this year.
Grant Sorrells, Northwestern Swimming: The Trojans’ senior won the 200 individual medley
and 100 backstroke in a tri-meet with Fort Mill and York, Sept. 13.
Sorrells had state-qualifying cuts in both wins as the Northwestern boys’ swim team finished
second place behind York.
Eileen Zeoli, Catawba Ridge Golf: The Copperheads’ senior shot a 77 to earn medalist honor at
the Lady Trojan Invitational at Rock Hill Country Club, Sept. 12.
Zeoli’s efforts also helped the Catawba Ridge girls’ golf team to a nine-shot victory over the 10-
team field.
