Prep football: An early look at this week’s schedule in the Rock Hill region
There are 10 games on the football schedule for Friday night. A dozen schools from the Rock Hill region will see action this week.
Here’s an early look:
York (3-1) at Fort Mill (0-4)
York picked up a big win against Rock Hill last week and has momentum. Fort Mill has to regroup after a tough loss in which they played very well.

Boiling Springs (2-3) at Clover (1-3)
Clover played well in a loss to Dorman last week, and they will have to be at their best as they take on Boiling Springs, which edged Greer 27-25. This is a matchup of two teams that were in the same region for the last few years.

Richland Northeast (1-3) at Nation Ford (0-4)
Nation Ford was idle last week. Richland Northeast has struggled thus far, but is a very capable team. They played well last week in a 21-12 loss to Spring Valley.

Lancaster (3-1) at White Knoll (5-0)
Lancaster travels to Lexington to battle an undefeated White Knoll team, which is ranked eighth this week in the 5A poll. They are fresh from a 35-14 win over South Aiken last Friday night. Lancaster must be totally prepared for this one. They must control the explosive White Knoll offense.
Parkwood (2-3) at Indian Land (4-0)
Indian Land is on a roll this season. They have been scoring plenty of points, and their defense gets better each week. Parkwood has struggled and is coming off a 27-7 loss to Piedmont last week. Indian Land should not take this game lightly.

Batesburg-Leesville (2-2) at Chester (2-3)
Chester has played well in all five of its games against teams in higher classifications. They need a win to get some momentum heading to their battles in the region. Batesburg-Leesville edged Newberry last week.

Andrew Jackson (2-2) at Lewisville (5-0)
Lewisville is unbeaten and improving every week as they step up to face a good 2A team. They must be ready for an Andrew Jackson team that has won two straight and has improved the last two weeks. Andrew Jackson must contain the explosive Lewisville offense.
Buford (4-0) at Cross (4-1)
Buford takes to the road to battle a very talented Cross team, which is coming off a big win over Lake Marion last Friday night. Buford must continue their improvement from week to week and be at their very best this Friday night.
New Hope (1-1) at Great Falls (1-4)
Great Falls has struggled all year. They must use this week’s game to get ready for the battles in the region that will follow. New Hope is coming off an eight point win last week.
Legion Collegiate (1-4) at Trinity Collegiate (2-3)
Legion Collegiate played exceptionally well last week in a close loss to a very good Charlotte Latin team. They will need that type of effort again this week as they play a talented Trinity Collegiate team that toppled Augusta Christian last Friday night.
