Blythewood 31, Rock Hill 7

Blythewood scored in every quarter and topped the Rock Hill Bearcats 31-7 in a Region 3-5A game at District Three Stadium Friday night.

Blythewood led 7-0 after one quarter and 17-0 at intermission. The teams traded touchdowns in the third period, and Blythewood closed out the scoring with seven more points in the fourth quarter.

With the loss Rock Hill dropped to 1-3 in the region and 2-7 overall.

Clover 30, Fort Mill 15

The Clover Blue Eagles turned in a strong second half and claimed a 30-15 win over the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets in a Region 3-5A game at Fort Mill Friday night.

After the Blue Eagles took an early 7-0 lead, Jayden Bryant made it 14-0 when he picked up a Fort Mill fumble and rambled 57 yards for a touchdown. A Clover field goal made it 17-0, but Fort Mill answered to cut the deficit to 17-7. Elijah Farmer’s two-yard run increased the lead to 23-7, before Fort Mill countered with a touchdown to make it 23-15 just before the half.

The Blue Eagles closed the scoring with a Demarco Evans touchdown in the third period., and the Blue Eagles’ defense pitched a shutout after intermission.

The Blue Eagles wrapped up second place in the region as they improved to 3-1 in region play and 5-4 overall. The Yellow Jackets fell to 0-4 in region action and 0-9 in all games.

Nation Ford 47, Spring Valley 16

The Nation Ford Falcons scored in every quarter and blasted Spring Valley 47-16 in a Region 3-5A game in Columbia Friday night.

The Falcons jumped to a 14-0 lead after one quarter, and they took a 21-7 advantage to the locker room at halftime. When the third period was in the books, they were in front 35-10. They outscored Spring Valley 12-6 in the final quarter.

Quarterback Carson Black engineered the rout. He passed for two scores and ran for two more. AJ McCullum and Kaden Barnett each added a touchdown for the Falcons, while Josh Ameo completed the scoring by recovering a fumble in the end zone.

The Falcons locked up a playoff berth as they improved to 2-2 in region play and 3-6 overall.

York 28, Lancaster 26

The York Cougars edged the Lancaster Bruins 28-26 in a Region 3-4A contest in Lancaster Friday night.

Lancaster led after one period on the strength of a three-yard run by Mikel McCollum. They tacked on a 40-yard field goal by Daniel Vincent for a 10-0 advantage with 9:41 left in the second quarter. York cut the deficit to 10-7 when quarterback Ayden Davis scored on an 18-yard run with just more than four minutes left until half.

Davis opened the second half scoring with a 27-yard scamper, and the Cougars led 13-10. Vincent kicked his second field goal of the contest, and the score was tied at 13-13 at the end of third stanza.

Davis added his third touchdown of the night on a three-yard run in the opening minute of the fourth quarter, and York was in front 20-13. JaRon Stephenson’s eight-yard run midway though the final quarter cut the deficit to 20-19.

York made it 28-19 when Davis passed to Keyshawn Sanders for a touchdown, and then added the two-point conversion on a pass to Debo Hall.

Lancaster answered in a hurry when Kedarian Cloud ran the ensuing kickoff back 88 yards for a score to cut the deficit to 28-26. The Bruins’ onside kick went out of bounds, and York ran out the clock.

York improved to 1-3 in the region and 5-4 overall, while Lancaster fell to 0-4 in region action and 3-6 in all games.

Clinton 48, Chester 20

Clinton established a 27-6 lead at halftime and toppled the Chester Cyclones 48-20 in a Region 4-3A showdown in Chester Friday night.

After Clinton took a 7-0 lead, Trooper Floyd passed to Kyon Kennedy on a 15-yard play to cut the deficit to 7-6. Clinton answered with three scores for the 21-point cushion at halftime.

Clinton made it 34-6 early in the third period, but the Cyclones answered when Floyd passed to Shydem McCullough on a nine-yard play to make it 34-12. The teams traded scores in the final quarter.

The Cyclones, who finished second in the region, dropped to 3-1 the region and 6-4 overall in their final regular season game.

Andrew Jackson 63, North Central 22

The Andrew Jackson Volunteers exploded for 42 points in the second half and ripped North Central 63-22 in a Region 5-2A game at Andrew Jackson Friday night.

The Volunteers led 7-6 after one quarter and nursed a 21-14 advantage at halftime. They added three more scores in the third quarter before closing the contest with three fourth period touchdowns.

Andrew Jackson won their seventh straight game as they improved to 4-0 in the region and 7-2 in all games.

Buford 33, Cheraw 8

The Buford Yellow Jackets toppled Cheraw 33-8 in a Region 5-2A game in Cheraw Friday night.

Buford led 20-0 after one period and 23-0 at halftime. When the third quarter was over the Yellow Jackets were in front 26-8, and they closed out the scoring with a touchdown in the final period.

The Yellow Jackets improved to 3-1 in the region and 8-1 in all games.

Lewisville 57, Whitmire 18

The Lewisville Lions wrapped up the Region 3-1A title as they routed Whitmire 57-18 on Friday night in Whitmire.

The Lions scored in a every quarter. They led 14-6 after one period and 35-6 at the break. They added a score in the third stanza for 42-6 lead, and outscored Whitmire 15-12 in the final period.

Lewisville improved to 3-0 in the region and 8-1 in all games.

McBee 50, Great Falls 12

McBee took a 36-6 lead at halftime and routed the Great Falls Red Devils 50-12 in a Region 3-1A game in Great Falls Friday night.

The loss ended the Red Devils season with a region record of 0-4 and an overall mark of 2-8.
