Lance Barnes, Catawba Ridge Basketball: The 6-foot-3 freshman scored 12 points and had two rebounds in a 72-14 win over York, Jan. 13.

Barnes also scored 17 points, had four rebounds and three assists in a 57-53 loss at South Pointe, Jan. 10.

Barnes is averaging 12.6 points per game for Catawba Ridge (15-3) this season.

Kristian Barnette, Northwestern Wrestling: The Trojans’ senior went 5-0 with five pins this week.

Barnette won his match at 182 pounds in a 36-33 win over rival, Rock Hill, Jan. 11.

Barnette also won all his matches to lead Northwestern to a team victory at “The Clash at the Castle,” at Westwood High, Jan. 14.

Barnette is 27-4 overall for Northwestern (13-5) this season.

Tyler Callahan, Indian Land Basketball: The 6-foot-1 senior scored a career-high 21 points, making of seven three-pointers to lead Indian Land to an 83-34 win at York, Jan. 10. Callahan set a school record for most made three-pointers in a quarter (six) and a half (seven).

Callahan also had three points in a 73-57 victory at Northwestern, Jan. 13.

The next day, Callahan scored 12 points, including four three-pointers, in an 85-65 win over Concord Academy.

Callahan is averaging 6.6 points per game for an Indian Land team (16-2) who has won 11 straight games.

Zacayden Clyburn, Andrew Jackson Basketball: The 6-foot-4 freshman scored 13 points and had 10 rebounds in a 67-39 win at North Central, Jan. 10.

Clyburn also had 15 points in a 56-51 win over Central Pageland, Jan. 13.

Clyburn is averaging eight points and 6.9 rebounds for an Andrew Jackson team (12-3) that has won nine straight games this season.

Jaylon Hoover, Clover Basketball: The 6-foot-1 junior scored 16 points and had two rebounds in a 46-44 win over Nation Ford, Jan. 10.

Hoover also scored 21 points in a 69-55 victory at Spring Valley, Jan. 13.

Hoover is averaging 10.6 points per game for Clover (9-9) this season.

Peyton Miles, Lancaster Wrestling: The Bruins’ junior won the 182-pound title at the Bruins’ Duals, Jan. 14, going a perfect 7-0 in the event.

Miles, who was 10-0 this week, is 28-6 overall this season.

Victoria “Star” Morris, South Pointe Girls’ Basketball: The 5-foot-10 junior scored seven points, had four rebounds and three steals in a 62-55 win over Catawba Ridge, Jan. 10.

Morris also had 19 points, seven rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocks in a 52-43 victory at Lancaster, Jan. 12.

Morris finished off the week with 17 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals in a 70-36 win over Westside in “The She Got Next, MLK” event, Jan. 14.

Morris is averaging 13.6 points, nine rebounds and 2.9 steals for a South Pointe squad that is still perfect at 17-0 overall this season.

Tamia Watkins, Legion Collegiate Girls’ Basketball: The 6-foot-1 sophomore scored 27 points, grabbed 19 rebounds and two blocks in an 81-33 win over Carmel Christian, Jan. 10.

Watkins scored 18 points and had nine rebounds and three blocks in a 49-38 victory at Victory Christian, Jan. 12.

Watkins finished off the week with 13 points, 13 rebounds and two more blocks in a 57-40 loss to Rabun Gap Nacoochee (GA), Jan. 14.

Watkins is averaging 15.3 points, 10.1 rebounds and two blocks for Legion Collegiate (14-6) this season.

Ny’Sheria Wright, Clover Girls’ Basketball: The 5-foot-10 senior scored 13 points, had 10 rebounds, two steals and two blocks in a 42-33 win over Nation Ford, Jan. 10.

Wright also had 13 points, nine rebounds, two steals and two assists in a 58-54 loss at Spring Valley, Jan. 13.

Clover is 12-3 overall this season.

Antwon Young, York Prep Basketball: The 6-foot-5 freshman matched a career-high with 27 points, 15 rebounds, four steals and three blocks in a 57-55, overtime win at Buford, Jan. 13.

York Prep is 2-10 this season.
