Two of the best girls’ teams in South Carolina face off Saturday

Saturday will feature a match-up between two of the top high school girls basketball teams in the state.

The South Pointe Stallions, the No. 1 team in the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association 4A poll, will host the Camden Bulldogs, the No. 1 team in the SCBCA 3A poll in a showcase game.

The Stallions (18-0, 3-0) have yet to lose a game, while all of Camden’s (16-2, 4-0) victories have been by double-digits.

Camden forward Joyce Edwards leads Class 3A with 26.9 points per game, while South Pointe’s Victoria Morris leads the team in scoring and rebounding, with 14 points and 9 rebounds per game.

The JV girls game will start at 3:15 p.m., while the varsity squads will face off at 5 p.m.
