Mason Alexander, Great Falls’ Golf: The Red Devils’ eighth-grader shot a career-low, 45, to finish fourth overall individually in a tri-match with Andrew Jackson and North Central at Kershaw Golf Club, March 16.
Alexander, who had two pars in his round, also led the Great Falls’ boys’ golf team to a third-place finish at the same meet.
Alexander is averaging a 52.6 per nine holes this season.
Ethan Belk, Legion Collegiate Baseball: The Lancers’ senior pitched 6.1 innings with seven strikeouts, allowing two hits in 1-0 win at Charlotte Christian, March 15.
Legion Collegiate (7-2) also won 20-0 at Gaston Christian, March 13, and 4-2 at Charlotte Christian, March 18.
Belk is a Wofford College commit.
Garrett Brown, South Pointe Track: The Stallions’ junior set a school-record, running a 4:27.81 to win the 1600-meter run in a home meet, March 16.
Brown set another school record in winning the 3200-meter run in 9:38.76 at the same meet.
Trent Farley, Fort Mill Lacrosse: The Yellow Jackets’ sophomore scored six goals and had four assists in a 15-6 win over Blythewood, March 16.
Farley also scored six goals and had one assist in a 14-8 loss at Hammond School, March 18.
Farley has 34 goals and 12 assists for Fort Mill (4-6) this season.
Brayden Hunsucker, Fort Mill Soccer: The Yellow Jackets’ junior scored two goals and had one assist in a 7-0 win at Rock Hill, March 17.
Fort Mill (4-6-1) also lost 2-1 at Blythewood, March 14.
Hunsucker has three goals and one assist for Fort Mill this season.
Peyton Kennedy, York Prep Girls’ Soccer: The Patriots’ junior scored two goals in a 3-2 win at Andrew Jackson, March 16.
Kennedy also had two assists in a 5-0 win over Westminster Catawba, March 13.
York Prep is 5-1 overall this season.
Lydia Laney, Fort Mill Girls’ Lacrosse: The Yellow Jackets’ senior midfielder scored six goals, had three assists, one groundball and six draw controls in a 15-5 win over Nation Ford, March 13.
Laney also had six goals, three assists, two groundballs and seven draw controls in a 17-2 victory at Blythewood, March 16.
Laney scored 10 more goals to go with one groundball and four draw controls in a 12-11 win over Lucy Beckham, March 18.
Laney has 43 goals, 11 assists and 30 draw controls for Fort Mill (6-2) this season.
Olicia Lucas, Nation Ford Track: The Falcons’ won the 400-meter dash in 56.96 at the Clash of the Carolinas’ at Cuthbertson, March 18.
Lucas also won the 200-meter dash in 25.24 at Nation Ford, March 15.
Jackson Mullen, Catawba Ridge Baseball: The Copperheads’ junior pitched four innings, striking out five batters while not allowing a hit or a run in a 15-0 win over South Pointe, March 15. Mullen has not allowed a hit or a run in his last two starts with 22 strikeouts in 11 innings in that span.
Catawba Ridge (4-1) also won at South Pointe 12-2, March 13, and 16-1, March 16.
Marilia Nieves, Clover Girls’ Soccer: The Blue Eagles’ junior forwards scored two goals in a 3-0 win at Nation Ford, March 14.
Clover also beat Spring Valley 6-0, March 17.
Nieves has seven goals for Clover (6-3-1) this season.
Isaiah Palmer, Rock Hill Track: The Bearcats’ junior won the pole vault tying a career-best 14-0 at the Clash of the Carolinas’ at Cuthbertson, March 18.
Palmer also finished as runner-up in the pole vault with a 12-6 at Nation Ford, March 15.
Sequel Patterson, Indian Land Track: The Warriors’ made a school-record jump of 6-4 to win the high jump at Nation Ford, March 15.
Patterson also had a personal-best 18-5 in the long jump to finish fifth at the same meet with Blythewood and host, Nation Ford.
Cade Pilgrim, Clover Baseball: The Blue Eagles’ junior left-handed pitcher had 13 strikeouts and three walks allowing only three hits and no runs in six innings of work on the mound to earn the victory in a 1-0 win at Nation Ford, March 15.
Clover (6-3) also lost 8-4 to Nation Ford, March 16, and 9-7 to the same Falcons’ team, March 13.
Amelia White, Indian Land Softball: The Warriors’ junior catcher went 5-for-7 with two doubles, a home run and six RBI as Indian Land went 3-0 this week.
Indian Land won at Buford (March 13), beat Northwestern (4-3, March 14) and won at South Pointe (15-1, March 17).
