Alec Baker, Catawba Ridge Track: The Copperheads’ senior had two personal best jumps to win the high jump (5-10) at the triple jump (40-10) at Northwestern, March 21.
Baker was also runner-up in the 400-meter hurdles (1:02.40) at the same meet.
The Catawba Ridge boys’ track team finished runner-up to host, Northwestern.
Catherine Barhorst, Nation Ford Girls’ Lacrosse: The Falcons’ junior midfielder scored nine goals, had six assists and four groundballs in a 19-8 win over Blythewood, March 20.
Barhorst also had three assists and three groundballs in a 20-3 loss to Fort Mill, March 22.
Barhorst has 52 goals, 29 assists and 30 groundballs for Nation Ford (5-6) this season.
Ian Drane, Nation Ford Tennis: The Falcons’ senior went 3-0 in singles’ play as Nation Ford beat Blythewood and Clover and lost a close match to Charlotte Catholic this week.
Drane won 4-6, 6-3, 10-7 in his singles’ match in a 4-2 loss to Charlotte Catholic, March 20.
He also went 6-0, 6-0 in a 6-0 win over Clover, March 21.
Drane finished off the week with a 6-2, 6-2 singles’ win in a 5-1 victory over Blythewood, March 23.
Drane is 9-2 in singles’ play for Nation Ford (8-3) this season.
Gavin Egan, Clover Soccer: The Blue Eagles’ senior scored a goal in a 2-1 win at Blythewood, March 21.
Egan followed that up with game-winning score in a 1-0 win over rival, Fort Mill, March 24.
Egan is already a John Moores University in Liverpool commit, and Steven Gerrard Academy signee.
Clover is 11-2-1 overall this season.
Vicki Lott, Fort Mill Softball: The Yellow Jackets’ junior went 3-for-5 with a double, four RBI and a run scored in a 13-3 win over Spring Valley, March 21.
Lott also went 2-for-2 with a double, two runs and a RBI in a 10-2 victory at Andrew Jackson, March 22.
Lott went 1-for-2 with a home run, a RBI and a run scored in a 12-2 loss at Clover, March 24.
Lott is batting .462 with a home run, five doubles and 13 RBI for Clover (8-2) this season.
Jasmine Nixon, Indian Land Girls’ Soccer: The Warriors’ junior scored a goal in the 2-0 win over Catawba Ridge, March 21.
She also had a goal and two assists in a 9-0 win over Legion Collegiate, March 23.
The next day, Nixon scored two more goals in a 9-0 victory at Lancaster.
Indian Land is 11-1-1 overall this season.
Devin Parks, Legion Collegiate Baseball: The Lancers’ senior went 5-for-9 with a double, a home run and four RBI as Legion Collegiate won at Charlotte Country Day and Covenant Day this week.
Legion Collegiate (9-2) won 12-1 at Charlotte Country Day, March 21, and at Covenant Day, 11-1, March 24
Loki Sanders, Northwestern Tennis: The Trojans’ freshman won 7-5, 7-5, at No. 1 singles to be the only Trojan to win his match in a 5-1 loss at Catawba Ridge, March 23.
Northwestern is 0-4 this season.
Ava Shook, York Track: The Cougars’ freshman ran a personal-best 59.86 to win the 400-meter dash at home, March 23.
Shook also won the 800-meter run, helped the 4 X 400-meter relay to victory (first leg) and finished fourth in the high jump at the same meet.
Katie Stevenson, South Pointe Track: The Stallions’ sophomore won the 1600-meter run at York High in 5:52.6.
Stevenson also won the 3200-meter run in 12:21.68 at the same meet.
The South Pointe girls’ track team won the meet by 67.5 points over host, York.
Emily Wodecki, Clover Softball: The Clover senior went 6-for-9 with a single, three triples, three RBI, one run scored and one walk in wins over Blythewood and Fort Mill this week.
Clover beat Fort Mill 12-2 win, March 24, and then defeated Blythewood 5-3, March 21.
Clover is 11-3 overall this season.
Cooper Zohner, Clover Baseball: The Blue Eagles’ senior went 5-for-7 at the plate, including a home run, four RBI and four runs scored as Clover won two of three games in a series with Spring Valley this week.
Clover won game one 10-0 over Spring Valley, March 20, then took game two at Spring Valley, 4-1, March 22, before losing game at home, 5-1, March 24.
Clover is 8-4 this season.
